The theme “Be Your Own Hero” holds deep significance for a young girl, shaping the premise of her entire day. Despite her young age, she exudes empowerment. A passionate hockey player with a fondness for sparkles, she embodies courage and determination in a predominantly male sport. Her famous quote, “Be Your Own Hero,” reflects her love for hockey and sparkles. When tasked with designing a room that incorporates hockey, hero quotes, and abundant sparkle, I embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.

The Second Floor, an exceptional venue in New York City, provided an ideal space for suspension throughout the room, enabling me to frame it with cascading sparkles. Custom-made mirror chandeliers adorned the ceiling, casting shimmering reflections over each adult table, while eye-level arrangements featured lush, overflowing florals at the peak of peony season. The dance floor received VIP treatment, adorned with a cascade of white balloons and an array of disco balls, culminating in our boldest statement: “BE YOUR OWN HERO.”

Emily’s lounge was carefully curated, featuring a black color scheme, sparkles, and subtle hockey-themed accents, creating a bedazzled space suitable for a young princess who adores slapshots, maneuvering the puck, and achieving hat tricks.

Her remarkable spirit has made her a hero to me and to all who have had the privilege of knowing her.
